Haverhill, MA (February 6, 2018) – The Northern Essex Community College men's basketball team led from start to finish on Tuesday evening as they defeated Holyoke Community College by a score of 116-82. With the win the Knights improve 13-10 on season and have four games remaining in the regular season as will look to improve their seeding for the post-season.
Offensively Northern Essex was led by Alexis Estrella (Lawrence, MA) who scored a career high 35 points, 27 of which came in the first half. Guney Kilitcioglu (Istanbul, Turkey) tossed in 20 points and Trey Sanford (Salem, NH) added a career high 17.
Ermir Alagoz (Istanbul, Turkey) and Kyle Martin (Amesbury, MA) both recorded double double performances on Tuesday night. Alagoz dished out 12 assists to go along with 10 rebounds, while Martin recorded 16 points and 11 rebounds. DJ Greenhalgh (Dracut, MA) added a team high 13 rebounds.
The Knights will hit the road on Thursday for the first of two straight road games when they tip off with Quinsigamond Community College at 5:00pm in Worcester.
